In January 2023 Qweer Shorts moved to Hope Mill Theatre - launching at Turn On Fest, their annual queer arts festival.

Act I focussing on brand new work with a mix of spoken word, script-in-hand and a couple of rehearsed 'semi-scratch' pieces.

Act II seeing the return of pieces from previous Qweer Shorts nights. Offering the writers, directors and actors the chance to have developed their work from the feedback and responses received since the 'scratch-night' staging.
Qweer Shorts began life in August 2021 above The King's Arms, Salford. A 'semi-scratch' night, mixing script-in-hand early drafts with more developed, and produced, pieces of LGBTQ+ new writing. Starting with one night, quickly evolving to two for our Halloween special.

THIS SUMMER

Qweer Shorts staged a showcase of six  pieces, 3 of which were developed from the project, and 3 were brand new pieces.

The showcase took place in Manchester for a week at Hope Mill Theatre, followed by two nights in Liverpool's Hope Street Theatre.
We are now accepting brand new scripts and ideas for our next
'semi-scratch' event - Festive Qweer Shorts - coming this Christmas!
